Updates from Sept. 2nd, 2008 Meeting

For those of you who weren’t present at the meeting last night, just wanted to give you a heads-up on what’s going on…

Topics Discussed:

- Teen Advisory Group: T.A.G. will meet on the first Tuesday of each month. Next meeting is Oc. 7th from 7-8:30 p.m.

- Teen Read Weeks (Oct. 9-23, 2008) “Books That Bite” theme: Cookbool/Cooking Contest display is up with tons of different cookboos, and fiction books by Joann Fluke and Diane Mott Davidson (which all have food themes).

- Teen Website: Blogs look great! Props to Danielle and Ashley. Kelvin and Janelle are going to work on the Anime site since all of Erin’s great work from home was lost due to computer glitches. Also, Hannah and Erin will put their heads together to come up with some great ideas for the Homework site of the main teen page. There’s a lot of links but they need to be organized and spiced up.

- Jazzing Up the YA Wall: Art teachers in the local school system have been contacted concerning artwork for DyVrse. So far, there have been no responses. In the meantime, we’re moving forward with our own artwork ideas. The old door (that until now has been pretty much useless) will be remade as a blank canvas for Kelvin and Pierre to work their magic. They’re planning on doing some awesome 3D graffiti with the DyVrse logo. Devon and Janelle will also be making their own art. They plan on working up a design involving the “spot color” technique that will be placed over the TEENs sign in the YA area.

- And the next on the list is…: We will be focusing on “The Gospel According to Larry” next. The next DyVrse meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 4th from 7-8:30 p.m. Our official drink is now Mountain Dew and the munchies for this meeting will be cheese sticks and bread sticks (for those lactose intolerant folks).

- Last but not Least: This was a great meeting. We have three new members (welcome Janelle, Kelvin, and Pierre!!). Your ideas were fantastic and , as always, it was great spending time with all of you.
