For the month of October, the amazing T.A.G. decided on a “Books That Bite” theme that’s sure to win the hearts (and stomaches) of all who attend. The following are the notes taken during the meeting on August 14th, 2008:
Teen Read Weeks October 9-23, 2008 “Books That Bite”
Week 1 (Oct. 9): Cookbooks on display, recipe contest (teens bring in their fav. dish for cook-off), winner of contest gets pic. on bookmark & article (with pic.) in Tifton Gazette.
Week 2 (Oct. 16): “Books That Byte”; Techie books on display, teens teach adults computer apps. (how to set up email accounts, surf the web, etc.), pacman computer game contest (website is www. freepacman.org)
Week 3 (Oct. 23): Vampire/Werewolf Books on Display, “Lost Boys” Movie Night
Basically, it was a meeting of inspiration and fun (which is what the group’s all about!) and everyone had a great time.
This blog is for the Teen Advisory Group (a.k.a. “T.A.G.”) and holds all of the minutes from the monthly meetings. The get-togethers are on the first Tuesdays of every month, beginning Sept. 2nd from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining either the DyVrse book club or participating in the T.A.G. meetings, call the Tifton-Tift County Public Library (TTCPL) or come on over and talk to one of our reps.
